Y'rov and Brown Gekkoth
Played By: Mya
Character Name: Y'rov
Pronunciation: YUH-rov
Character Type: Dragonrider
Rank: Wingrider
Political Alignment: The Establishment
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Sexual Preference: Heterosexual
Appearance:
Near 6 foot-3 with whipcord muscles verging on the wiry side, Y'rov's dark and handsome- prominent as someone firm-built everywhere would be. His chiseled appearance can dominate lower ranks since the serious demeanor is even more imposing.
The almost majestic blue of what're midnight ocean eyes has given his face a regal air. His high-cheekbones are broad, keeping the otherwise long features in proportion, though such prominence leaves almost a shock overseeing the freckles spread across his nose. In more striking contrast with his blackish-nutmeg hair his fair complexion seems paler. He does keep the medium-length layers swept messily behind his ears and held there via a mere headband, nothing too fancy appearing though. There are more obedient appearing bangs since they hang neat across his eyebrows, less rogue then the other strands framing those features.
Clothes, once he graduated, will become more important as a brownrider should look presentable and he'll discover a fondness for wearing several colors. No one color'd bring out everything about himself, nor would his small wardrobe make him much of an expert, however, his coloration won't clash too noticeable with fabric he'd keep carefully smooth.
Personality:
His expression seems set in stone, making it anyone's guess what a decision was driven by. Tenacious, single-mind on projects that it'd take an interruption before he notices another chore, minor setbacks won't discourage him from continuing. Any chance over important issues where he can try again would be taken, even those someone'd prefer remained buried. He understand the strain on one's health when subjects are restrained and would rather face them with pride, something he has in quite an abundance. Nothing about Impressing brown seems to have phased him.
Brown is important, brown was the color his father rode and most important Y'rov's found Gekkoth to be a fine traditional brown. The political creature fits him so well he can't feel anything besides a complete confidence in their future being meant to carry on Fort Tradition. Given his complete dedication to tradition too he'll grow quite close to his brown.
There are no complaints either about the hours demanded from him since he's an early bird himself. He's asleep early, awake early but there's no in-between. A sound sleeper he's not woken easily and views it good that he's Impressed now (with no more worries he might sleep through a Hatching). Easy-going overall he eases into his vindictiveness but once aggravated he'll remember the culprit to watch him/her for anything else. Gold's still haven't earned his trust back either...he keeps expecting one to go mad or see another killed by the resistance.
Birthplace: Fort Weyr
Parents: Brownrider Y'tov and Purre
History:
Born on 11.19 only 2 turns before this most current pass, Yureov was a mere infant when Thread returned. Five Turns past with his father around but he has more stories over how valiant Y'tov fought against Thread. None were real. Purre spun them so her son would have someone heroic and mysterious he could be awed over. He spent Turns learning the mysterious air he keeps even planning his future as a dragonrider someday. Even discovering his father'd died in Threadfall many Turns before didn't phase him.
As a brownrider's son the other children respected him especially given he was no pipsqueak. Yureov was a good example for what a proper male was. Of course, he would wrinkle his nose over some lessons but many others would too. Through everything his goals never changed so once old enough he joined Candidacy, just once he didn't follow his dream. After what Zarith did to Nyith's clutch he couldn't even stomach seeing that gold.
He was a bronzeband before Alioth/Gehenth's clutch hatched. Through the entire hatching he watched greens, blues, browns, and a bronze...the bronze which died without Impressing. Toward the end a gleaming mahogany brown chose him, saying {{Yureov. What I want, I get. And what I want is you!}} Toward the end of Weyrlinghood the WLM asked the class why he should let them graduate. Answering that would've amounted to overconfidence that probably would get him killed so he told the WLM off somewhat and was held back. It would be another half-turn before he went back so that he'd finally be allowed to graduate.
~~Dragon~~
Dragon Name: Gekkoth
Color: Brown
Age: 2 Turns
Wing:
Appearance:
Gekkoth looks almost like someone poured oil over rich mahogany wood. He seems to glisten, gleam and look like he's always had a good bath and a nice oiling even if he hasn't. This is a solid brown, looking steadfast and heavy, although he does manage not to look stocky. His head will always be tilted proudly, and he will have a tendency to look at people down his nose.
Personality:
This dragon's all about wanting and having; if he wants something he'll go about having it because nothing less would suffice. Given his single-minded, ruthless focus he's not exactly afraid over bending the rules and his intelligent is cunning, letting him find someway to manipulate others into doing his dirty work. He may persuade an agreeable blue or green, or work his rider into persuading other riders. Whichever's fine with him.
Because of this Gekkoth needs an equally strong-minded rider to cope.
Not everything about him is bad, that determination he possesses will get him far in surviving Threadfall. He'll take a few too many chances within the air but is a fearsome fighter, making it seem Threadscores are on the horizon someday. That doesn't cause him much concern as far as appearance go, however, were it to exist no confident brown would've admitted it either.
Weyr of Origin: Fort Weyr
Abilities and weaknesses: His pride over his stamina is absolute. Sure he must work around not being that agile but even such weaknesses he's proficient with...when needed. Despite that, many can maneuver sharper or faster than him. That he can *between* is another useful tool used in supporting those weaknesses during Threadfall.
