Month 19: Graduation
Those weyrlings age 16 and older are graduated to full rider status and placed in fighting wings. If the Weyrleaders permit the new dragonriders are assigned to a lower level and as their competence and experience increases they are moved to the higher first Fall contact wings. If they do not pass they are held in Weyrling classes until they are deemed ready and not a danger to other riders.
Those under 16 become junior riders assigned to the Weyrlingmaster's staff until they turn 16. Regardless of their age, all weyrlings in a class are usually allowed to participate in their class' Blooding, but the final decision rests with the Weyrlingmaster, who has the power to hold back any weyrling who isn't progressing in step with his/her classmates. The safety of the weyrling pair is, as always, the Weyrlingmaster's first priority.
