X'ke and Bronze Galwenoth
Played By: MyaL
Character Name: X'ke
Pronunciation: ze-KE
Character Type: Dragonrider
Rank: Wingrider
Political Alignment: Vengeful toward suspected Resistance, Bleeding Heart toward others
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Sexual Preference: Heterosexual
Appearance:
Can someone tiny look special? The answer from X'ke, at 5 foot-9 with posture hunched in sulkiness making him seem 2 inches shorter, indicates an ignorance about the fact he has a nicer masculine shape. He's compact, muscles slender and pliant, which made the pale bronze skin taut and firm.
Mere traces of baby-fat remain puffed across his cheekbones in what's a somewhat cherubic appearance, leaving just the dark hazel eyes as prominent. Around his face, there's black hair cut short with somewhat spiked locks that are somewhat roguish pointed various directions and copper-tinged along the edges. His ears are left bare showing their nice-sized appearance on either side of his head.
Were his clothes not well-kept X'ke would've seemed the irresponsible sort.
Personality:
X'ke idolizes the courage in others but won't blind himself toward what he dislikes. Defensive and cold, as well as worried over what someone would think, too much caution ties his stomach into a knot, his awareness that such can happen makes him impulsive. That determination flares whenever he perceives an injustice.
Once several ticks pass that brazen mindset will abandon him leaving him more sensible, even his time wearing a brownband gave him enough self-worth that he won't surrender easily. A pride has grown over this independence, however, it does wavers on occasion when his nerves are frayed. There are bitter memories convincing him there's reason for hesitance so he focused instead on future possibilities, like protecting Fort's honor or vengeance for Sirasri.
He does have somewhat of a klah addiction. It made X'ke even more high-strung than normal and, after 3 mugs, the nervousness causes his speech pattern to waver, otherwise, however, the stuttering is no longer a habit. Though better since he began thinking for himself, relaxful calm still eludes him, so instead X'ke will continually want what others have.
Birthplace: Fort Weyr
Parents: Z'ron and Nekieta
Birthday: t02, m02, d19
History:
A mating flight produced Xekive and neither parent was willing to take on the responsibility of raising him. For his first few turns the creche had him until, at his third birthday, his grandmother finally took him on. Since her daughter didn't want Xekive she raised him as though he was her son.
He grew up never knowing anything about his true parents, Haidiah being his mother was scary since it made others think very little of him. The lack of respect made Xeke nervous enough to expect that he'd be picked on. By the time he was seven turns old the boy was drinking lots of klah each day just to keep himself distracted. Everything stayed like that until his true mother left Fort during the exodus to Southern Weyr. After that he was told to pack and Haidiah took him to Fort Hold to escape the slight on the family's honor which Nekieta had done. There Xekive was extremely less comfortable since he didn't know anyone there. It was hard for him to even bring himself into meeting those his own age. Half a turn later was the first time a bronzerider by the name of Z'ron showed up to meet him. It was at that moment which Xeke found out who his father and mother really were.
That entire meeting felt awkward to the boy but he went with it not knowing where the discovery would lead. Z'ron would visit twice more before Xekive's twelfth birthing day. A few sevendays after that a Searchrider showed up at the Hold, in an hour Xekive found himself actually Searched. He found weyrlife hard. There were few rewards but being picked by L'ael as an assistant did improve his mood enough he braved encounters with one female Candidate. Xekive grew more and more attached to Nephrem over several encounters until she dropped him for another...right in front of him too.
It struck him hard enough that he came to dislike Landan and he dared not worship those he once idolized. The changes gave him more freedom to be himself. From there he's began developing a backbone, although that didn't mean he enjoyed opposing others or wanted a girl who solely wants someone to dominate them. Getting a brown armband in the second color assignment made him somewhat certain that his changed might be important someday. Likewise he started getting to know a female Candidate named Sirasri better and soon came to consider her the Walking Sunshine.
For the clutch where Hollanth laid a gold egg there was also a bronze hatching among the first group. Galwenoth calmed down a fight between his clutchmate then went on to Impress to Xekive, Sirasri too Impressed too the gold of the clutch, Tameketh. They did grow apart some during the Turns following weyrlinghood despite X'ke having her on his mind ever so often.
Not long before Tameketh's first clutch hatched a blue collided with Galwenoth during Threadfall, catching X'ke fractionally too. The injury damaged his back and fractured several ribs putting out of commission for flying anytime soon. Healing turned out a slow process that took numerous months before the healers even deemed his back well-enough that he could move. He was stuck on crutches for some time then even after that he continued to limp for another sevenday. Over the time it took to recover he worked at getting rid of his stutter. He had really wanted to show Sirasri he could be a normal person except it enraged him when he ran out of time to do so. Sirasri wouldn't ever be around again...

Dragon Name: Galwenoth
Color: Bronze
Age: 4 Turns
Hatched: 18.05.14
Wing/Weyrling Group:
Appearance:
There's a formidable appearance to go with his stern personality. The bronze of his hide, likewise, comes in an extremely dark shade, without more than several brighter highlights across his wingsails and along his ridges. Little has changed since hatching, he remained stout with a broad frame meant to carry the future, hefty musculature, though by now said muscles do carve their way over him.
Personality:
He's not the easiest dragon to love because, if Galwenoth has a sense of humor, it's not one that anyone is aware of. Serious to a fault, it seems as if Galwenoth was born without knowing how to relax and live a little. Tense and forever concerned with looking proper, he'll surely drive his rider mad with his insistence that everything be done with the strictest attention to tradition. He'll be the absolute last bronze anyone wants as a Wingleader for he'll be the hardest taskmaster.
Despite his attitude being all work and no play, Galwenoth craves the friendship of other dragons, then broods over the fact he can never win them over. He may demand respect from the lesser colors, but that won't ever satisfy him. He wishes they could *like* him, and for more than just the color of his hide. Of course, were he ever to make a real friend besides his rider, he wouldn't know what to do with them once he had them.
Weyr of Origin: Fort Weyr
Abilities and weaknesses: He might not move very quickly or gracefully, but he looks very impressive at a standstill so, when all else fails, can throw his weight around to compete with his quicker clutchmates.
