V'bor and Green Weisseth
Played By: Kouga
Character Name: V’bor
Pronunciation: va bor
Character Type: Dragonrider
Rank: Wingrider
Political Alignment: PWP (ie. he’s always out to save his own skin)
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Sexual Preference: Hetrosexual
Appearance:
V’bor is an anxious boy and has a lot of annoying little nervous habits. Sometimes it's running his fingers through his short blond hair, sometimes it's chewing at his already bitten-off nails, sometimes it's rubbing at the bridge of his nose - but whatever it is most of those little signs start annoying people when they've seen them often enough. He just seems to have a constant need to fidget.
He's not a particularly short boy and is in fact a little above average though not by much. His eyes are a pale blue, and he sometimes seems to blink too often which is probably just yet another of his many nervous habits. Now that he is past most of his growth and well into being a rider he has filled out a decent bit- not that he seems to have noticed. His constant need to try and avoid everyone whenever he can means that he works out a lot and he has the muscles to show it, he wouldn’t ever be called a muscle builder or a ‘wall’, but he certainly does look like one that could hold his own if it came down to a fight. His skin is actually rather well tanned as he tends to work out in shorts and short sleeved shirts, but if he stays out of the sun for long enough, or you catch him in less clothing, it is clear that he is not a naturally tan person.
Personality:
V’bor has an aversion to getting hit. He's a friendly enough boy, happy to make friends, happy to show people around the Weyr, but he's also an absolute coward.
He will do anything- absolutely anything- to avoid a beating. The whole "bearing it stoically" thing was something he never got the hang of- he will lie, tell tales on his best friend, even cry if he has to, anything just to prevent getting hurt. That other people he tells tales on might get a beating is obviously a bad thing, but in the end really, the person V’bor has to look out for first and foremost is himself.
He's a bad kid to bring along if you're looking for any kind of adventure. V’bor is the kid who every step of the way will be asking "Ought we to be doing this?" "Is this allowed?" "Do you think this is a good idea?" "You know, I don't think we ought to be doing this.". He *likes* rules and he likes obeying them because if you obey the rules you know you won't get into trouble. If you start breaking them you never know when trouble's going to happen and that agitates him.
It is also this love for rules that has kept V’bor from having any sort of relationship and has driven him into working out as much as he has. He would have been happy with a blue, but with his green everyone /knows/ that he must like males. Such a fact means that he has kept his distance from, well, any ‘respectable’ females though he has had more encounters with males on a sexual level due to Weisseth’s flights then he ever wanted. While he will always love his green, her actions at her hatching made him more worried than ever before and once they graduated he threw himself into any sort of exercise he could find in an effort to keep him out of the way of anyone with any sort of rank to avoid the chance of being hit as much as possible.
Birthplace: Fort Weyr
Parents: Mother: Timori – Father: Vaborn
History:
Though he grew up at the Weyr, Vabortim's never really been severely punished - he's never needed to be. He was the sensitive sort of boy who'd feel sick even if the person next to him got shouted at and so he grew up trying to avoid trouble as fervently as he possibly could.
He was the sort of boy the other children tend to sigh at in disgust- constantly sucking up to adults and trying to get in their good books. At least he didn't do as some youngsters would and turn around and use their good favor to pick on others. Varbotim didn't want trouble with other children. Varbotim never wanted trouble with *anyone*.
The inoffensive boy Stood on the Hatching Sands, not daring to hope as high as a bronze or brown. A blue would make him happy - just a blue so he didn't have to order people around.
Instead it was Weisseth that found him, Weisseth the 'bronze killer' of the Phantom Chasers that made him V'bor. He can already see the beatings on the way for that, but all the same he can't help but love Weisseth even if he doesn't love what the green did.
17.01.04 - V'bor is 17 today
18.01.04 - He turns 18 today
19.01.04 - Today he turns 19
20.01.04 - It is hard to believe he is actually 20 turns old now
20.04.xx - He finds a green with a clutch and before he can even consider reporting them one of the eggs hatches and the blue impresses to him- much to his displeasure. He can only hope this doesn't cause him too many new problems.
21.01.04 - He is 21 today
22.01.04 - He turns 22 today
~~Pet~~
Pet Name: Evil Trouble
Type: Blue Firelizard
Hatched: 8.20.04.xx
Appearance:
Egg- Swirls of sparkling white which almost looks as if they are moving, allowing glimpses of the gleaming speckles of blue and green underneath.
Firelizard- Sleek and lithe, this boy is a gleaming deep sky blue, with round splotches of various sizes a slightly darker shade that pattern his body, including one which covers his right eye. In contrast, the upper side of his wings from the tips to halfway up the wingsail and tip of his tail are a dark, midnight blue. In the right shadows it'll look as if his tail and wings are shorter than they really are, especially with the shine of his main body to draw the eye. Because shine it does: even with the slightest of light he'll almost glow, a beacon to be followed. Unless he wants to hide under his wings.
Personality:
Quiet and observant, even if you can't see him he`ll be there, watching. He'll be an aloof boy, not wanting to get into petty territorial squabbles with other firelizards or care much about getting attention for himself, instead he'll just sit and watch the entertainment from a distance. He is capable of giving affection, but this will only be consistently shown to one single person: his pet, his whole world. As long as he has his pet he doesn't need anyone else.
He does have his dark side, a petty, sulky side. Those who displease him or his pet may find a dead tunnelsnake or fish head stashed away under their pillow. Not that he would let anyone catch him at it.
~~Dragon~~
Dragon Name: Weisseth
Color: Green
Age: 6
Hatched: 08.16.01.15
Appearance:
Egg- Fragile Calling Egg: At first glance, the boys are sure to turn away from this egg quickly. Nothing so delicate in appearance could possibly be worth their time. And yet... the Fragile Calling Egg refuses to be so easily ignored.
It's pale surface and lacy patterns may look weak, but they hold a strong, undeniable appeal. Perhaps the boys can explain it away as the egg reminding them of the pretty girl they were fooling around with recently, but whatever their excuse- they *will* feel this egg's call.
Once drawn to it, where it sits off by itself apart from the rest of the clutch, it's hard to resist the temptation to grab it up and make the egg your own. The egg wants you to possess it, surely, but at the same time seems so aloof- a contradiction that will capture the attention and interest of those who come closer.
Dragon- Weisseth is a true beauty, there's no doubt about that. From her soft forest green color, to her delicate stature, she has a very sweet, appealing look. Weisseth is perfectly proportioned, with all the right curves to entice the male dragons, and her pretty little face is one any artist would love to immortalize in painting or tapestry.
Personality:
There doesn't seem to be a reason for her to be so quiet. Weisseth should be the life of her class, social and outgoing and getting all the attention, but instead she stands quietly off to the side, watching from afar as if something holds her back from joining in. When approached, she accepts the attention readily enough, though she will always be somewhat distant from everyone but her own rider. With her rider, she will confess all her deepest secrets - and she will have a lot of them.
From the time she hatches, she will feel as if she has done something terribly wrong, and it will keep her from every fully moving on with her life. She'll always be caught up in that formless shame, even though she can't express- even to her rider- what it is that makes her feel so guilty.
One thing's for certain- she's not the only one who's done something wrong. She will always be convinced that male dragons have done her some serious harm, and she will never forgive them for it. Her only true friends among the other dragons will be the other greens, and it will only be the golds she ever seeks or accepts approval from. She'll play nice with the boys as much as she has to, but just beneath the surface she seethes with anger towards them all, convinced she's somehow been horribly wronged.
Weyr of Origin: Fort weyr
Abilities and weaknesses: Weisseth is never one to stand upon ceremony in fact she takes great care to speak as little to her superiors as possible simply because those ‘in charge’ are always male. She will never directly disobey an order, but unless it comes from a gold she will put the minimum effort into it. The anger towards males and her shame at herself are both taken out on Thread and she throws herself into it with a zeal that if not for V’bor could have cost the green her life more than once. She has a strong flame though and her stature lends her to a quickness on her wings that makes her able to react fast and turn sharply.
