D'ire and Blue Andreth
Played By: Rabble
Character Name: D'ire
Pronounciation: D-ire
Character Type: Dragonrider
Rank: Wingrider
Political Alignment:
Age: 26
Gender: Male
Sexual Preference: Homosexual
Appearance:
A small boy, Darsite has dark brown hair and pale blue eyes. His nose seems too large for his square face, but his wide, thin-lipped mouth somehow balances it. His pale skin is prone to freckles, and burns easily in the slightest sun. His hands are large, with long, thin fingers and his limbs seem too long for his small body, which may suggest a growth spurt will come.
Update 8.13.3.9:
Well, he had a growth spurt - but he was rather miffed that the spurt grew his limbs out as well, with the result that while taller and with muscle added by hard work, he looks almost the same as he used to do.
Personality:
Darsite loves attention, especally from handsome boys. However, his extrovert ways have been getting him noticed by the wrong people lately, but after he realised the natural results of being 'found out', Darsite is currently pretending an interest in pretty girls. This has resulted in him being secretly unhappy. He has always been a natural leader, always ready to help others, but always with a new prank to play. He is being much quieter these days, as he is scared that his secret would make his friends desert him. When he realised he had a crush on one of his friends, he gave in to years of prodding from some of the Creche workers and became a candidate to seperate himself from his crush. He wants to be an important dragonrider and knows that being found out would nix that.
History:
Born to Dragonriders, Darsite grew up in the Creche and never saw the need to be interested in two people uninterested in him - his parents, whoever they were. He had a happy childhood, with many friends to play with. Then puberty hit, and Darsite began to realise he was slightly different than most of his friends. He withdrew for a time, untill he realised his friends wanted to know what the problem was. Making up a story about being snubbed by a pretty girl, Darsite began to live a lie, which he is willing to continue for the rest of his life, if he is lucky enough to impress brown or bronze.
Well, it wasn't a bronze that found Darsite, and events of the hatching have left him on crutches for the rest of his life. He's living with his best friend, and has had a child by a candidate, who is currently a Weyrling.
Weyrlinghood ended, and D'ire, having missed out on parts of training due to injury, found himself assigned to Watchrider status more often than not, while his friends became real dragonriders, training in Wings.
Life has had its good points, though; thanks to a goldflight he got a young woman, Tosca, pregnant and his son Tosire resulted, to his delight. He's sure that his son, raised right, has a chance of Impressing well. He is a bronzeriders grandson, after all. Recently he's cut back on his drinking, as it was becoming a regular occurrence for D'ire to get completely hammered, and his weyrmate didn't appreciate D'ire being unable to limp home after partying.

Dragon Name: Andreth
Color: Blue
Age: 9
Wing:
Hatched: 8.13.03.09
Appearance:
Andreth is a pastel blue, lightly colored - almost a baby-blue shade. He's small too and even when he grows up, he'll have a young look about him - feet and headknobs a little too big, tail a little too long - as if he has yet to grow into them.
His hide is also incredibly soft and supple and may need oiling less than that of the other dragonets - no doubt a relief for his lifemate!
Personality:
When Andreth wants your attention, he wants it now. It doesn't matter if you're bathing or even relieving yourself. He will never understand when it *is* and *isn't* time to play, and this may grow to be a constant battle with his lifemate. You wanted that shirt? Well, you'll have to catch me to get it, and then win the tug of war for it.
It's a game that will only grow more difficult when Andreth learns to fly, and may result in a lot of torn clothes. Prepare to have to explain these to your WLM or Wingleader!
He will however enjoy fetching things *for* you as long as you ask him nicely enough. Left something in your Weyr? As long as he can reach it and pick it up, he'll bring it down for you. Later in his life he'll even learn to handle them gently enough that they won't be broken.
Once he discovers water, Andreth will love swimming even in the coldest of temperatures, never seeming to feel the cold. His bad habit of shaking himself when he gets out may not, however, endear him to those around him.
Weyr of Origin: Fort
Abilites and weaknesses: Andreth isn't a very large blue nor very muscled making him have even less endurance than is normal for a blue, but he uses that to his advantage and has learned to use his speed and reflexes making him a quick turn. His want to 'fetch' has translated into him having a bad habit of trying to chase down thread, but as long as his chosen watches him he can be kept in place. His control of his flame has also benifited from this want as he is rather good at quick and rather accurate bursts of flame. He does have a problem 'putting on the breaks' though as it were and instead usually tries to do a quick turn or skip between rather then actually stopping.
