C'fan and Bronze Resmeinth
Played By: Shinimegami
Character Name: C’fan
Pronunciation: suh-FAHN
Character Type: Dragonrider
Rank: Wingrider
Political Alignment: Traditional
Age: 25
Gender: Male
Sexual Preference: Heterosexual
Appearance:
Icy blue eyes regard those near the bronzerider with cold indifference. C’fan’s pale blonde hair is only long enough to reach down around his ears, three inches long at most. His body is tall and lean with a significant amount of muscle mass to prove him worthy of his color. C’fan was never a small lad, born 8 pounds and nine ounces, and as he grew he just got bigger. Living the Weyr life meant that the “bigger” was never fat but rather muscle. After Impressing Resmeinth, C’fan’s musculature only grew.
At the first Gather he was allowed to attend after his Impression he designed and purchased a tattoo of his bronze which sits on his left shoulder blade. While still in High Reaches, C’fan got into a bit of a scuffle with another bronzerider which ended up in a knife fight when the other man pulled a blade out. C’fan suffered a small cut across the throat but sustained no life-threatening injuries. In fact his worst injury (and only major Threadscore) to date is one that runs across the back of his neck. It eerily mirrors the one his bronze sports.
Personality:
To put it bluntly, C’fan is a bit of an asshole. He is a rider of a ranking dragon color and he knows it very well due to his training by his father (when he met him) and during his Weyrlinghood. Other riders have their place and with the exception of goldriders it’s under him or doing what he says when he says it. If that means playing the Weyr like a game of Dragon Chess, then so be it. From the moment that Resmeinth rose to chase his first green, C’fan established himself as a proficient and desirable lover. It isn’t often that C’fan takes a partner and it is rarer still for him to be monogamous to her. But once he does, it doesn’t matter who else he sleeps with- no one had better sleep with his chosen. He marks those girls with a little bite scar in some noticeable area. Recently his “affections” have fallen on a young female named Varya. When Varya Impressed a blue his interest slaked slightly due to the unnatural nature of her Impression.
Birthplace: High Reaches Weyr
Parents: bronzerider father, name unknown; unknown mother
History:
Cadfan was born on the first day in the eleventh month four years before the eighth pass. Born of a bronzerider and a woman of the Weyr who died in childbirth, he was raised like any normal Weyrbrat. Cadfan knew who his father was by virtue of the Weyr valuing children fathered by bronzeriders and thus used that knowledge to dominate his peers. The day that he turned twelve, he marched straight into the Candidate Master’s office and demanded his right to Stand. For three Turns past that date, almost to the day itself, Cadfan stood on the sands hoping for his dragon. In the meantime, he organized activities and chores for his fellow candidates to do that mostly involved him standing off and watching to make certain that no one screwed up. Claims for him to be the pet of the ACMs were swiftly met with his own brand of discipline, usually a fist in the night when no one of authority was around and it could never be traced back to him. Within a day or so of his fifteenth Nameday, Cadfan finally got his wish. Thinking that the very large pale dragon was a queen, he initially ignored it. But when the now-obvious bronze spoke directly to him, C’fan knew his destiny had finally Hatched.
Nine Turns after his graduation, C’fan encountered an odd little Candidate girl named Varya. He immediately claimed her as his, marking her on her lips with his teeth to show the rest of the Weyr who she belonged to. She was an almost perfect mate- if she would have kept her damned mouth shut! But instead she’d argue with him over what he considered to be trifles- monogamy, respect, little things. Varya’s father had intended to marry her off to get rid of her but instead saw an opportunity. He paid C’fan very handsomely to get her out of his hair and take her to another Weyr. Since he was a bronzerider and could better get away with something like this, C’fan put in a transfer to Fort and hauled Varya along with him. He was interested in what Fort would make of her. Imagine his exasperation when she went and Impressed a blue.
~~Dragon~~
Dragon Name: Resmeinth
Color: Bronze
Age: 10
Appearance:
Pale, very pale shining hide combined with his large size and glimmering egg had the High Reaches crowd thinking he was a queen when he first emerged on the sands like he owned them. However, his mother hadn’t worried over his egg like she would a gold so he couldn’t have been. Debate continued as he ordered his siblings around on the sands like a queen and even communicated with his mother in a very queen-like fashion. But her rider knew through her that this was no queen. This was a very pale and very large bronze. The rest of the assembled learned this when Resmeinth completely disregarded the women and headed straight to a young Weyrbred boy, then Cadfan, and made him C’fan. To demonstrate his claim to his siblings, the bronze had unfurled thin and slender wings with exceptional muscle mass at their bases and a tail to match and let loose a tinny bellow. Resmeinth maintained his large size throughout his life as well as his oddly slender build. He has long limbs that make walking awkward but interferes in no way with his downright graceful flying. The only mar to his bright hide is a thick Threadscore that runs along his neck- a reminder that his wing as well as he must be perfect in the middle of a Fall.
Personality:
Resmeinth is most often a very quiet and reserved bronze. Because of this, he is thought of as a follower and a bit of a dullard. The ones who think that are usually the ones who end up used by the pale bronze without them knowing it; this could run from them divulging information he wanted or even them taking a Threadscore for him, one that is often fatal. Resmeinth isn’t cruel, however, he just knows how to sort out miscreants. During Threadfall, he is particularly detailed in his own work and thus rarely gets scored. He has only received one heavy scoring and that was enough to convince him to make sure it didn’t happen again. From Weyrlinghood, Resmeinth was the one to step forward and take charge of his classmates during lessons and games and he’s maintained that to adulthood. The downside to this is he tends to force his ranking color on those below him, especially blues. Browns are more difficult since they are closer to his color. Golds he bears with since they are queens and thus deserve all respect and attention. Greens, however, he avoids entirely unless he truly, truly has to deal with them, such as in a mating flight. Resmeinth does NOT like females (golds excluded as noted) and greens are the worst kind of females since he can mate with them. He ignores a good percentage of the female human population with an exception here and there.
All of this would make for a fine bronze if not for one thing: his unpredictable and terrible temper. When Resmeinth or C’fan is under large amounts of stress or C’fan is threatened, he flies into a rage that once (at his Hatching) resulted in a candidate being sent to the infirmary near death. When the temper hits in Threadfall, this at least can be channeled into flaming Thread. Other times it is imperative that C’fan rein him in before a gold has to step in and restrain him. Because of this temper and possibility, Resmeinth is usually apathetic and distant from other dragons and especially humans. He does not talk to any human but his rider for any reason.
Weyr of Origin: High Reaches Weyr
Abilities and weaknesses: Resmeinth is fast for a bronze in mid-air and thus suffers in the stamina department. Yes, he can last an entire Fall but he will be more wearied than his shiny brothers. He is a good leader and capable of organizing others but his unpredictable temper tends to make lesser colors avoid him and other ranking dragons see him as a threat.
