C'dan and Blue Pensherth
Played By: Kouga
Character Name: C’dan (Cosi)
Pronunciation: si dan (co si)
Character Type: Dragonrider
Rank: Guard
Political Alignment: He is Traditional, knowing leaders and followers are needed...but only up to a point, and that point is Ash’rly. When things relate to Ash he is very much Resistance, hating the way his lover is treated and wants to change it. So, he leans both ways and semi supports both directions.
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Sexual Preference: Homosexual
Appearance:
He is a taller thing standing at 5’11, or 6’ even- it’s hard to tell for sure, and due to his training he holds a good bit of muscle to him being about 160 pounds.
If you swing around a sword and learn to spar long enough you build up some decent muscles too you, but he hasn’t quite gotten to that level yet of having so much bulk. Just now most of his mass is the leaner ‘runner’ muscles rather than those some older guards have. They are well defined though so there is no way to mistake his fit form for just that- fit, it is muscular. Despite the growth spurt that he just finished a few months ago he doesn’t have the wide shoulders that most men do and oddly enough his hips seem just a bit wider than most too giving him a more ‘boxy’ look in the torso then the ‘triangular’ one most men have. Actually he kinda likes the look because he can have fun with it. after all just because he doesn’t like girls doesn’t mean he can’t bother them by wearing his shirts a bit short and letting his pants sit on his hips, besides he knows better than to flirt with men. Being raised in Fort Hold showed him that was a bad idea so he entertains himself flirting with the girls and watching them go crazy, it’s even let him stay a virgin after all if you run off with some girl long enough at a gather and your friends talk. The chilled weather that fort has though means long clothing more often then not and that covers most of him which keeps him on the paler side despite his time training outside.
He keeps his sandy brown hair no longer then a inch or two to make sure it stays out of his face while he trains, well and if he ever let it grow much more then that it would turn into this annoying curly mess that he /hates/ and has never been able to find a way to contain. His eyes are a rather odd shade of blue that actually looks to be more gray then truly a blue. His nose is a bit on the larger side right at the bridge, but that is where that other apprentice punched him in his nose when he first apprenticed and it never was set so it healed weird, he doesn’t really mind because he can still breathe fine which is all he cares.
Four turns as a guard have had more of a mark then just his broken nose and his extra muscle though. He holds a scar right across his abdomen when he didn’t dodge quickly enough in his first practice with a real knife. The scar running from just under his right eye to past the tip of his lips ending just before his chin came from the same fight. The only other big scar he has is his left arm where he didn’t deflect another’s blow properly and the tip ran about three inches along his arm starting from his wrist.
Personality:
He is a bit stoic around new people for the most part, but that comes from his training, after all the easiest way for an opponent to break you is to get to you using something or someone important to you. So he is careful to hide his true feelings for anything and anyone when he first meets them. Once, or more like if, he gets comfortable enough to be sure that the person won’t use it against him he will open up more, but until then good luck getting more than general information out of him.
He is a guard above all though and if he is told to do something by someone superior, unless it is harmful to anyone, he will salute and be off to do as told with no other than a ‘yes sir’. Most of his answers are rather short and to the point a ‘yes sir’ or a ‘no sir’ are defiantly the most common ones and unless you make a point to him that you don’t want to be called ‘sir’ that will be what he calls you if you rank him. This even extends to women oddly enough, maybe it’s just the Fort mentality that only men should have power or maybe it’s just habit he’s never bother to examine it and never been asked so he just doesn’t care.
While overall he is a rather serious boy if you can get him out of the guard mentality though he can be a lot more relaxed and even joke some. He doesn’t have the best since of humor because it is just not something he has worked on, but he does have a bit of one. He is good for just talking to like this, if you can manage to get him out of that mentality then he actually probably trusts you. You just have to watch though if he stops talking it’s probably not you it’s probably just someone that came into the room or something, he won’t even talk to someone he trusts if someone he doesn’t is in the room. It’s just him, he doesn’t have very much more than just the one facet to him, but who knows what the right person could do for him.
Birthplace: Fort Hold
Parents: Mother: Danoju, 32, cook – Father: Cosiwa, 36, guard
History:
His family has always been guards. His father is a guard, his father before him, his before him, as far back as any of them remember they have been guards. So it was no surprise when he was born male that he was raised knowing he was to be a guard one day, and even less a surprise when he apprenticed as one as soon as he could.
His first encounter with another apprentice was about a sevenday after he apprenticed. It was this episode where he was punched in the nose, but not before he got in some licks of his own and he didn’t let a broken and bleeding nose stop him either. It was his father and another guard who pulled him and the other boy off of each other and both were severely disciplined for it. He defended his actions though, after all that boy had no right to talk of his mother as if she were some pillow crafter.
He did well in his training for the most part just a couple minor accidents once he was allowed to use a real blade rather than just a wooden one. Nothing really significant until the day that dragon showed up on search. He had always been a guard, always knew he would be and his family had always been, so to have the green shove her muzzle into his face and declare him a candidate was not something he expected. After a talk with his father though he decided to accept the search after all being a dragonrider was just being a guard of a different kind after all.
Not long after his arrival he meets up with another boy called Ashaerly who used to live at Fort Hold. He wasn’t one of the people Cosidan ever bothered to talk to beyond a brief hello, but his hair and general person had made him someone that he at least knew. So when he ‘disappeared’ one day he did notice. He still isn’t sure how it all started after he found Ash at the Weyr but one thing lead to another and they are now together, but he is quite careful to keep it quite. Ash already has enough problems being smaller like he is and that sharding Ralnin, what he did can never be forgiven as far as Cosi is concerned.
16.01.15 – His first time on the sands he is lucky enough to impress when the rather ugly little blue Pensherth claims him. After a discussion with said blue their first night in the barracks they finally reach a decision about his name, but it is a rather odd one as far as he is concerned, but it’s what Pensherth wants. So to everyone else the blue has declared he is C’dan, but to himself and Ash he is to be Cosi. Also in the hatching of the Phantom Chasser both Ash and Ralnin impressed both to a green becoming Ash’rly and R’nin.

Dragon Name: Pensherth
Color: Blue
Age: 6
Wing: Winds of Fury
Hatched: 08.16.01.15
Appearance:
Egg -
Please Don't Squeeze: This should be just a plain white egg, but it's an oddly shaped one. Perhaps it got bashed around a little more than the others after first been laid, when the shell was still soft.
In any case, where other eggs have smooth shiny shells, this little egg has a shell which is ridged and bumpy. Run your fingers over it and you can feel the imperfections, little lumps sticking out of the white surface.
It creates an odd shadowed effect when looked at the wrong way. They are only bumps, but half-close your eyes and the shadows merge together, until they seem to form nothing other than a giant tunnelsnake, wrapped around the egg and ready to squeeze.
And it would only take one good squeeze to crack the shell...
Dragon–
There is no denying that some dragons are simply not as pretty as others. Pensherth is one of the uglier ones.
The little blue's legs and wings seem all out of proportion. They truly can't be described as anything other than "stumpy" - something that will make Pensherth ungainly in flight as his wings will never seem quite big enough for him to be able to glide as he should. He'll be awkward, and he'll tire quickly too, making it rare that he'll ever last for more than half a Fall in the air.
A body that is clumsy in the air though seems almost designed for swimming. In water, Pensherth will have all the grace he'll never have elsewhere. He'll be an excellent swimmer, and a great fisher - it's just unfortunate that he can't fight Thread in there too!
He won't stay a "little" blue for long either. He may start small, but Pensherth will grow fast, quickly becoming one of the biggest blues in his class.
Personality:
He will have a great belief in "you broke it, you fix it". People make mistakes certainly, people do things wrong, but there's no shame in that. Everyone does that from time to time. The real shame only comes if that person then runs away from their mistake, leaving the mess for someone else to clean up. It's something that Pensherth would never do, and he always feels vaguely disgusted at those who do.
The other thing that will disgust young Pensherth are those who break promises, and his lifemate would be wise never to do so. A promise is a promise, no matter how great the cost of fulfilling it, and if you were not prepared to go through with it, you should never have made the promise. Pensherth's view on things runs as simply as that. Break a promise within his sight, and be prepared for him to react strongly. Break a promise made to him or his lifemate and he may never forgive you.
Weyr of Origin: Fort Weyr
Abilities and weaknesses: His main weakness would be his wings. Half a Fall is a good day for this blue boy and catching a green is nearly impossible both due to the fact that he is beyond awkward in the air. He may be large and bulky, but his wings just don't let him move like he should and he can only do so much building up stamina. While this blue boy might never be at home in the air though he does have a strength in that he could give anyone a run for their marks in the water. He has an unshakeable desire to keep any and all promises made by him, to him, or by anyone in his hearing he just sees it as improper not to. Though sadly this could in truth be both his greatest weakness and strength.
