A'sar and Green Jarroth
Played By: Rosie
Character Name: A’sar
Pronunciation:
Character Type: Dragonrider
Rank: Wingrider
Political Alignment: Just like his brother, A’sar used to be ‘Politics? What Politics?’, but after impressing green and being treated as he has, as well as seeing what his sister has had to deal with, A’sar has ‘Resistance’ leanings, although he has yet to be recruited.
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Sexual Preference: Bisexual
Appearance:
Obviously he looks almost exactly like his twin. A'sar is the same height, 6’1”, with the same sharp angled face and the cleft between his chin. The same dark green eyes but A'sar’ shine with laughter more than not, unlike his serious twin’s eyes. He has the same slightly pointed nose and, amazingly, the same bump where his nose was broken as well, in retaliation for breaking his brothers nose. Instead of his lips being drawn into a serious line, as his twin’s would be, A'sar’ lips are normally curved into a fun and sexually inviting smile. His ears are the same slightly less rounded as his twin’s ears and is touched by hair the same length. However the younger twin’s hair has stayed its first color, an almost bright coppery red. A'sar’ hair touches his ears in the front and then reaches down in the back to touch his neck while the bangs are kept short and out of the way. He is debating growing it longer now so it can be different from his twin. He has tanned slightly darker than his twin but not by much and would still be considered mostly fair, just like his twin.
His body is just as leanly muscled as his twin’s, from their training and their life traveling, and he will keep his body fit and trim. He too has scars on his arms and chest but also has a few on his back; he and his twin have lived a very active but dangerous life. His eyes are very young looking and his face has more laugh lines than his twin does. He holds himself much more relaxed than his brother, although always in the best way to show off his body.
He is seen more often in green than any other color but he will occasionally wear blue for a difference. Like his twin he normally wears light tan fitted pants with calf high- folded down brown leather boots. A'sar will only wear clothes that he knows make himself look good, being conscious of his good looks and wanting to enhance them. Clothes are fitted for him, just like his brother, and normally it is their sister that will do the alterations since she is very good with a needle.
Personality:
He is almost completely the opposite of his twin brother in how he acts. While A'mor is slightly more serious and responsible than the younger twin, A'sar is more relaxed and on the lookout to have fun. A'sar has no problem flirting, and flirting a lot, with anyone he finds attractive, although he does refrain (now) from flirting with someone already in a relationship as long as he knows. While his brother has longer ‘flings’ A'sar is perfectly fine having a one night stand. Just like his brother, A'sar tends to avoid the females who swoon for them and is drawn to females who have ideas and some respect (even if that causes problems with one night stands). Again like his brother, A'sar likes both genders, but he is not subtle in the least about coming onto a guy he thinks is hot, no matter how much that would get him in trouble. His flirtation stems from the fact that he knows he is handsome and can’t help but flaunt it. However, since his time at Fort Weyr and getting some serious beat downs for flirting with, or even looking at with interest, the wrong guy A’sar has gotten more circumvent with his flirting by watching the person of interest for a little bit to be sure they would appreciate his advances.
As all the siblings grew up the twins seemed to grow closer as they grew (think the twins in Ouran High School Host Club closeness) and at first the twins closeness was accepted as normal. But after a while when the boys didn’t grow out of their touchy-feely closeness they began to get made fun of whenever the train would stop at Hold, Hall, or Weyr. Being made fun of didn’t stop their closeness, but the severe beating they were given at a Hold because of their affectionate relationship began to dampen their closeness, at least when not by themselves. This loss of a close companion might be the reason both the boys also tend to have many flings and relationships; they are missing the closeness they used to share as twins but no longer feel they can without being beat near to death again.
In response to his brother’s bossiness A'sar tends to not listen to his brother sometimes. He is beginning to hate when his older, by 2 minutes, brother tries to tell him what to do because of his odd form of ‘over protectiveness’. However while A'sar hates it when his older brother bosses him around that doesn’t stop him from trying to look out for his little sister and being protective, maybe slightly overprotective, of her. Although he is the more relaxed twin, if anyone or anything threatens his family he will fight like a dragon to keep them safe. Like his twin, A'sar is also naturally confident, however he has no desire to be a leader or decision maker of any kind but he still won’t blindly follow the group. His confidence leads him to be the center of attention more than often and loves it. (Think Britney Spears’ song Circus except for being a guy) He has the same political views as his brother, having been brought up the same way by their grandfather. He has always respected the dragonriders and admires their wonderful dragons, desiring one of his own no matter the color.
He enjoys practicing his fighting skills with his brother as they are so equally matched that they both just fine tune each other’s skills. So he loves practicing with both his daggers and his bow and arrow. But other than being the center of attention and practicing with his brother he likes to hang with his little sister, picking at her like normal big brothers would do, and enjoys talking with her actually more than his serious twin. Besides those two things, and being the center of attention, he loves to sing and dance. He actually has a better voice than his brother, but his sister can sing just as well as him. It is a habit of theirs to sing together often.
As mentioned in A'mor’s profile, this trio of siblings is a musical one as well as being able to defend themselves, the musical ability trained up by their grandfather. While A'mor has a baritone voice, A'sar is a warm graceful tenor with a bright, full timbre that is strong but not heavy and can be heard over a Gather. The instrument he was better at is the guitar. At the Gather’s the family has attended A'sar has found a way to be the center of attention by making sure to dance with his sister (only in a brotherly way) who is an excellent dancer.
Birthplace: Unknown/on the roads
Parents: Amrlyd- Father and Asraon- Mother
History:
Just like his brother, (A'mor) he was born on the 18th day of the 3rd month of the last turn of the 7th interval to a trader couple named Amrlyd (Father) and Asraon (Mother). A'sar, being the younger, was not pressured so much with the responsibility of leading the caravan when he got older, but he was just as loved and cherished as both his brother and little sister (when she was born when the twins were 2 turns old).
Just like his brother A'sar was taught about dragonriders and the need to respect them and then began both harper training from his grandfather and learning how to fight when he turned 12. A'sar did have better ability with the bow then his older brother did, but his skill with the dagger was about even with his twin. As to learning the musical learning, A'sar had a lighter voice than his brother, being a tenor singer, but he also learned the guitar quite well. While his brother was taken away at 14 to learn how to run the train A'sar was given more freedom to explore and wander, as long as he watched over his sister and didn’t stray too far. With this extra time he ended up teaching his sister to fight more than the older twin, which also brought them closer. It didn’t help that with taking on the new responsibility that A'mor became more serious and less fun, not able to fit in more with A'sar and Aslyn. A'sar wasn’t mad that his brother had been picked to lead the Train; the younger twin didn’t want that kind of responsibility anyway.
His life was carefree and unrestrained (except by the unconscious need to watch over his little sister) and he loved this freedom. Often he would ride ahead and scout the way for the caravan or walk a bit parallel in the forest and then bring back animals he had hunted for dinner. But most often he enjoyed the attention the trio got whenever they sang or played at the end of the day, or even just the attention he and Aslyn received whenever they danced (as wonderful dancers as the pair were).
And so his life went, much less serious and constrained than his twin, until he was 19 and the day of that storm. He was right there, tears in his eyes, as he helped to move the tree from his father and then at the tragedy he was also there with a shovel and dirt/tear streaked face as the twins dug the grave after the rain ended. He followed Besnik's, his father's second in command and now the caravan leader, decision to go to the nearest place (Fort Weyr) to resupply and get the injured tended to, but A'sar was the support system that his mother needed. Now he is at the Weyr with the rest of the train, everyone still grieving at their loss.
As of the 22nd Turn, A’sar has impressed, him and Jarroth have graduated from weyrlinghood to the wings and begun fighting Thread...Luckily they haven't been injured yet, besides A’sar straining his shoulder muscles in weyrlinghood. Their younger sister has had twins and Lydia, their blind adopted sister, had stayed with them at the Weyr for a bit...but after falling for a rider who died Lydia went back to the trader’s train. A’sar made a connection with another trader boy, Sazrell, but gradually that friendship has turned into something more. Who knows where that will lead to...

Dragon Name: Jarroth
Color: Green
Age: 2
Appearance:
While Jarroth is still within the normal range of size for a green, she's as muscular as you're ever likely to find in a dragon. She's a strong little thing, and will gravitate quickly to physical tasks like hauling firestone. Such work doesn't tend to leave a dragon too clean. Jarroth already has a hide patched from dark to light green, and she'll add to that with smudges of dirt and sweat. Her lifemate will need to work to get her through inspections.
Personality:
Jarroth doesn't want to sit around looking delicate and pretty -- she much prefers work which leaves her body aching and sore. She has a tremendous amount of faith in the leadership. Unfortunately for her it doesn't actually blind her to injustice. Jarroth will see horrible events in her lifetime, and she will understand that they are in fact horrible events. In her mind though, the only reason rankers would let these happen is because they wouldn't understand how horrible they are. If only, she thinks, enough people explained this to them, they would understand and fix this.
If Jarroth was right the world would be a happier place.
